Programs & Lessons

At South Bay Aquatics, we believe in creating a safe and loving environment where our students can focus on learning. To that end, we limit the number of students in the lesson pool to a maximum of 12 at any one time (excluding Baby and Me).

Our executive director, Karen Holmes, created the Survival & Beyond Method. This method, offered exclusively at South Bay Aquatics, was created based on her twelve years of experience and training in many nationally recognized swim programs. Using her experience she combined the most successful instructional techniques, delivering a simple and proven swim lesson progression. Progress is made using patterns and routines focusing on one to three skills per class. Students gain confidence in their own abilities and build a strong foundation mastering one swimming skill at a time.

We understand that the quality of our swim program is dependent on the quality of our instructors. We further recognize that not every student progresses at the same pace, or learns in the same way. Our instructors are chosen based on their qualifications as well as their ability to inspire and encourage students in the learning process while making learning fun.

At South Bay Aquatics, we also believe the learning process should be filled with care and encouragement from the student's family. Families are invited to sit either in our viewing area or on the pool deck during lessons and are encouraged to celebrate their students' successes.

Finally, we believe that consistency is important when learning any new skill, and as such offer continuous enrollment throughout the year, allowing new clients to register at any time. Once you register for a class, the class date and time are yours until you decide to cancel swim lessons or transfer to a new level or time. Lessons run year round and you can sign-up or transfer at any time.

South Bay Aquatics reserves the right to change, edit or drop classes as enrollment dictates.
